The first step in learning to make Silver Clay jewellery

A grand introduction…

This is a one day beginners course where you will learn how to make your own silver jewellery using silver clay. You will be taught all about this amazing medium, how to use silver clay and various techniques to produce two to three finished pieces, depending on the size you make.

No previous experience in metal clay or jewellery is required.

The class runs from 10am to 5.00pm with a short break for lunch, please remember to bring your own. Teas and coffees are provided.

During the day you will learn how to handle and store your clay, texture, shape and cut your pieces, how to add a gemstone and refine your pieces, and finally how to polish your finished silver jewellery. You will make several pieces, depending on size, and use different methods to fire them. By the end of the day you will have enough knowledge to go away and create your own silver jewellery at home.

All materials will be supplied, including enough silver clay to produce 2-3 pieces of fine silver jewellery, depending on the size you make, a gemstone and a jump ring. You can buy more silver clay, gemstones or findings on the day.
