The first step in learning to make Silver Clay jewellery

A grand introduction…

This is a one day beginners course where you will learn how to make your own silver jewellery using this amazing medium, silver clay. You will be taught all about this medium and how to use silver clay and use various techniques to produce two to three finished pieces, depending on the size you make. No previous experience in metal clay or jewellery is required.

The class runs from 10am to 5.00pm with a short break for lunch. During the day you will learn how to handle and store your clay, texture, shape and cut your pieces, how to add a gemstone and refine your pieces, and finally how to polish your finished silver jewellery. You will make several pieces, depending on size, and use different methods to fire them. By the end of the day you will have enough knowledge to go away and create your own silver jewellery at home.

All materials will be supplied, including silver clay, a gemstone and a jump ring to produce 2-3 pieces of fine silver jewellery, depending on the size you make, including one with a gemstone. If you require extra clay, gems or findings you can buy them on the day.
